Get rid of hemmoroids (hemmroids): Hemroid treatment

Getting rid of hemmroids (hemorrhoids) is not exactly top priority in medical research. Hemmorroid treatment never was, even though hemmorroids (hemmerhoids) affect every second human everywhere in his/her lifetime.

• Diet change (fibre, water) to get rid of hemmorroids
• Daily warm sit baths for getting rid of hemmerhoids
• Hemroid cremes (often cortison based)
• Hemmroid suppository for getting rid of hemmoroids
• Hemroid surgery in severe cases of hemmeroids

Treating hemmroids (hemmorroids)

If your hemorrhoids (hemmeroids) do not disappear by themselves, then changing the diet is probably the first thing to do. Even if the root cause of hemmoroids is not obviously constipation, it will have a beneficial effecto on the hemorrhoids. Drinking a lot will help avoiding hard stool, also turning to fibre rich food and avoiding "stuffy" foods like white bread, pasta, bananas etc is also a good idea for getting rid of hemmroids. This will minimize the straining during bowel movements which would make the situation worse.

It is not necessary to use toilet paper, which may increase the itching and make the problem worse. Water alone is enough, no soap is necessary. If you still want to use soap - make sure it is unperfumed and non-allergic. If you still prefer to use toilet paper, make sure you use soft tissue paper and preferably still wash your bowel with water and dry carefully with soft tissue again.

Hemorrhoid suppositories and cremes

There are hemmroid suppositories available without prescription (Scheriproct, Xyloproct etc) in your local pharmacy / drugstore. There are also cremes available to stop itching - hydrocortison, midison lipid etc. Note that most cremes for hemroid treatment contain cortison. Long term use of cortison may incur other problems like skin atrophy and dermatites so use with care and not for long periods without consulting your doctor.

Xylocain (creme) will work like a local anaestethic and help against the pain during bowel movements. If in severe pain, daily hot sitting baths is a hemroid treatment (house cure for relief) that may help in many cases of hemmoroids or hemmroids.
